Batteries in your pedals or wall power of some sort??

I’m curious, how many of you use batteries in your pedals and how many use some form of wall power (meaning anything other than a battery)?

Also if you were to buy a pedal would you care if it did NOT hold a 9v battery in it and only ran off a boss style power plug?

I run all my pedals on batteries live. I hate messin with the pedal board needing to be plugged in.

If I go somewhere to play I'll take batteries. At home its wall power.

I use external power exclusively, but I am told that there are pedals that sound better from battery sag, thought the pedal power things can simulate this now. I really only use the plugs cause I forget unplug the inputs on my pedals all the time and by the next day the battery is dead.

I run all my pedals on batteries live. I hate messin with the pedal board needing to be plugged in.

I did that until my board expanded. Plus the Visual Volume and the DD6 EAT batteries.

Current setup:

Weeping Demon Wah-->Dynacomp-->Twin Tube Classic-->Phase 90-->DD6 Delay-->Verbzilla-->Visual Volume-->Amp.

That's too many pedals to keep up with batteries for. TTC has it's own power supply (no batteries--and I wouldn't want to need batteries for it). Everything else is running on the OneSpot adapter.

I don't like batteries ,and 2 of my most important pedals do not work with batteries either (my Whammy and MXR 10 band EQ).i use the pedalboard everyday ,so it would be expensive to go with battery!I am planning a new DC brick or pedal power etc.But i am still searching the right one!

Batteries are a nuisance for me. I use a Godlyke power system. BUT I also use a Furman power conditioner. It totally depends on the power you have, but around here it can get really dirty and affect the tone in my pedals. The Furman really cleans it up for me.

Wall power here.
Taking out the inputs would be too much work (I'm a lazy bastard) and I don't need to worry about the bats dying.
I use a custom power supply 6000mA works great and it was cheap (bought it 2º hand) it also powers my pignose for recording, one of my best buys actually.

Power supplies for me. I'm forgetful enough that I forget to pull the plugs on battery-powered pedals.

I use a Juicebox on my big pedal board and a One Spot on my smaller one.

Pedal Power user here, but I like the option of being able to use batteries in case I just want to take one or two effects with me and leave the board at home.

Lately, I've been powering my pedals by a bunch of 9v batteries wired up to a DC male plug, and splitting that between my NS-2 and OD808.


That said, if my OD didn't require a scredriver to change the batteries, I'd probably just go with normal batteries.

I recently bought a powered pedal board. Although I'm a FX junkie,I've never gigged with more than 3 or 4 pedals TOPS! So I have to say batteries. 90% of the Giges I did was with just a TS-9 & Dunlop Wah. Add a DS-1 & CH-1 to that when I was doing top 40 stuff in the mid 90's.:barf: Now that I have a SFX-03 the pedal board still stays home.

i use both, depending if i have power available. i use a 1-spot to power all of the pedals which works great.

i don't mind, mike .... i just bought a custom router/switcher pedal that has 3 LEDs that require 9V DC (center negative) externally supplied power 'cus it has no room inside for a 9 V DC battery ...

fortunately, it works fine with no power if i dont mind having the LEDs off ... i am in the process of trying to determine what my pedal board / power needs are ... i not only have this box and a 9v DC (center negative) wah pedal to worry about ... i have the roadster's 8 button foot controller (powered by the head, a midimate controller (9V AC wall wart or midi powered), expansion room for a mama bear (wall wart) and my DG-Stomp (backup in case the head goes out) with it's 12V AC wall wart ... i am thinking it is going to be a one spot for 9V DC .. then a power strip or two for all those wall warts

I use a one spot to power my board. Its one plug and everything else is connected using a daisy chain. Works fine.

I think I WOULD mind not being able to use a battery, simply because I've been places where plugging in wouldn't be an option.
