BC RICH experts, help me HERE! :)

Re: BC RICH experts, help me HERE! :)

Hails JP!
In my opionion it s a USA-made BC Rich, but pictures don't guarantee anything. Don't know if there is any database holding all BC Rich production numbers and info about where they are made.
But in my opinion (humble) it s a USA-made one.

The neck plate looks like an '80s USA BC Rich ... but I can't see the 'Made in USA' on the headstock.

Unfortunatly the pictures are too blurry (and small)

Re: BC RICH experts, help me HERE! :)

i agree. It's a USA made since todays korean products have a different script logo and warlocks usually don't have pointy headstock(ok,bronze series has it put it's not a bronze) anymore. All the korean riches have the series printed on the headstock together with the logo.

Re: BC RICH experts, help me HERE! :)

So.. what model do you think that one IS?
Platinum? Nj series?
the Guy that is selling it said that the guitar is from 90´S

Re: BC RICH experts, help me HERE! :)

For some reason, I can't zoom on the photos.

I think that I see "Made in U.S.A." on the neck plate. If the neck plate is original, it should by all means be a good guitar, possibly very good, or even better. But if it's not a USA model, I wouldn't buy it.

Is it all original? Are the parts still in order? How much is it in dollars? I still don't think that you should sell your guitars to get this one.

EDIT: Now I saw the zoomed pics, and I think the neckplate says USA. If the price is okay, you don't have to sell guitars you like and you're sure you want a guitar like that, go for it.

since the platinum pro series didn't exist back then and the platinum series didn't have trems i guess it should be a NJ. If it's in good condition and the price is right(no idea about currency in this matter) it should be a good buy

Re: BC RICH experts, help me HERE! :)

The is no series name for the USA BC Richs as far as I know.

The USA's neck plate should have "B.C. Rich (script) then the serial number below and below that "LA California" and finally U.S.A. on the bottom

I am under the impression that the Platinum, Bronze and NJ series were all import lines.

If this is really from the early '90's, then it should be U.S. made. They were made from 1990-1993 in New Jersey, USA. If this is from the Mid to late '90's ( from 1994-1999 ), then it's also made in USA in L.A. California. Also, this guitar is unusual because of the reverse headstock which are common on the B.C. Rich Iron Bird series but not common on the Warlock series. B.C. Rich made the reverse headstock only by request and not a standard feature.

Note: The "NJ" on the NJ Series does not mean "New Jersey". It stands for "Nagoya, Japan" where the original NJ series was made ( Circa 1983-1986 ) when Bernie Rico decided to shift production in Japan. It just so happen that B.C. Rich company headquarters moved to New Jersey later on that's why people thought NJ stands for New Jersey.

thats what it says

Re: BC RICH experts, help me HERE! :)

NJ series were never made in new jersey. the usa bc riches were made there from 90/93 but NJs were always imports. and the usa on the neckplate is where the company was based from. it doesn't mean this one is made in usa. and i don't see the made in usa on the headstock. this one does look like early 90s NJ(not USA).

mockingbird,
Thanks for correcting that. I just saw the neck plate on this B.C. Rich and yes, i would say that this is definitly not a USA made guitar !!! It should have a stamp where it was made on the back of the headstock along with the serial number. It should be a Korean ( Made by Cort ) made NJ if its from the early '90's then. Whatd'ya think? :)

Are you saying that the neck plate is false then? To my eyes it says LA California USA

Re: BC RICH experts, help me HERE! :)

Looks like an import to me too.

I had a Warlock in early 90's, a cheap Platinum Series, and it had the same neckplate.

Same on Kramer Focus series, which were imports but stamped "Neptune, USA" on the neckplate. Dont buy, too pricey.

Re: BC RICH experts, help me HERE! :)

If it's not made in California, don't bother. Those were the ONLY REAL B.C. Rich guitars. Preferably with the active electronics. The NJ stuff was crap.
