Talking' bout these:

I almost got one of these in ~1986, except it had the full meal-deal of controls, and was full ultra-violet. One of my very few regret-to-purchase guitars. Then this series came out, and like an idiot, I didn't get one. Figured they would show up used eventually. Nope.

Anyone know anything???

I had the NJ Mockingbird with a XL500 a great guitar I should have never gotten rid of it

All very interesting...but what about the NJ Retro series? We are talking released somewhere between 2007 and 2017 maybe...

But I can see the 5000 each with 100 guitars.
Dean is kind of like that.

I have one, but I'm not sure about the "retro" part. Rich serial numbers are a bit difficult to decipher. Mine is simply 20238.

Very cool B! Sweet Laney stack.

The subject at hand is the REISSUE version of those mid 80's NJ's.

So further back to the matter at hand. I would imagine the reissues would be a great platform for modifications. All of my lower to mid-range B.C. Rich guitars were lacking in some way. Typically the pickups. If you find one of the reissues at a good price I would say go for it. However, I think there are better models to search out if you are looking for a low to mid-level B. C. Rich.

What happened to them?

Too many people were hurting themselves on the pointy ends; causing lawsuits and the eventual demise of B.C. Rich.

:13:

They were solid axes in the ~$600 range I seem to recall.

Better than a Chinese Gunslinger - definitely
Not as expensive as a vintage axe.

I already won the BC Rich lottery with my $299 Bich Classic NJ
