I have one, and currently only use it in the effects loop for reverb, as I don't have reverb pedal.
As an amp modeler, for the price, it's good. If you're looking for tones, though, I'd go with a POD.

What im looking for is something i can take on the road that is portible that i can stick a pair of headphones and play into it. Any other suggestions ?Maybe something like the Dean Stack in a box or something close to it.

I have one, but i just wanted something cheap for practising at home, and it sounds at least 1000 times better then my crappy "kimberley" practise amp, but of course it cant touch my jcm800

I love the convenience of mine. For the money you can't beat it. There is something a little sterile about it, but I don't use it for gigs so I cope.

I use mine through a Fender 650 solid state amp, and I really like it. There are so many possibilities that you will get great results with at least one of them. Granted, it's not QUITE as good for subtle overdrive, but it's ok unless you're a complete tubehead (which most of the people on these boards are... ach well). A decent OD pedal can help with that, and the high gain sounds are very good. It's not gonna get you to absolute tube heaves, but it's slightly lower than the pod, for a lot less money. And it has lots of effects which are very useable on their own with a proper good amp. Could do a lot worse man.

I think the v-amp is perfect for what you are looking for. I bought one because I coudln't take my Marshall 80W to my uni flat. I would have had problem with the neighbourhood... surely.
First I plugged it in my computer and it was ok. Now I am using it through my Hifi and it sounds not bad at all.
I am happy for the price of this unit, even if I had a technical problem in the one and a half year I've been using it.
But in two weeks, I'll be bringing from my parents place my valvestate to have a descent output to play with friends... Can't wait!!! :dance: :dance: :dance:

With the MIDI and software I've got around 5 setting that are just killer and I would not be afraid to use them in a gig. And also, it may be made of plastic but mine has hit the hardwood floor three times now and it still works. :smack:
