YES, thats the exact point ERIK
thank´s for posting in
so, how much costs one of those power conditioners? Is a Furmann an exmaple of a power conditioner?
but i have other problem(not a real problem, i can use a 110/220 conversor I GUESS) but the amp is 110 , and all the voltage where i live, is 220 volts.
so, i believe theres no power conditioner for 220 .
Yes, a Furman power conditioner is one too look at. I believe the Furman's are switchable from 110-120 to 220. Your amp should be switchable as well.

Edit: I'll add a nod for the Crate Powerblock mentioned in the previous post. Great little power amp. Just need a good preamp and you're good to go.

oh what didn't you like about it?.. I'm thinking about trying one with a Mesa power amp.. did you try it with a tube power section and if so was it 6L6 or EL34?

Re: Best Amp/Brand for Extreme metal?!?!?!

maybe you should stick with the pedal/power amp idea though.. a lot of metalheads dig the Boss MT-2 Metal Zone as a cheap solution.. that might sound decent paired with a Power Block

Yah. thats what i´ll use i guess.
the powr block is a power or pre amp!?
The Power Block is a 150 watt POWER amp. It has an EQ section and stuff on it too and there is a preamp in it. If it had more gain built in you could use it stand alone. It's pretty mellow in the gain dept though for Metal. For blues or jazz it's perfect stand-alone.

Try a few pedals through it though, not just the Metal Zone (which sounds like @ss IMO). It works really good with the POD XT.

Well, but then, if i´ll buy all that stuff, it doesn´t make sense my investment on the 5150. ahahah i don´t want to spend too much money on A new amp, cause it will be only an amp to fill in on those situations i described.

Re: Best Amp/Brand for Extreme metal?!?!?!

no actually I just suggested the MT-2 because you can get it used for cheap.. go on ebay (or any other used market) and find a Crate Power Block for $150 and a metal distortion pedal for around $100 (I'm SURE you can find a badass pedal for metal for that much).. no need to spend $300 for a POD and footcontroller.. along the cab you use for the 5150 you're spending less than 300 dollars for plenty power and headroom

Re: Best Amp/Brand for Extreme metal?!?!?!

sweet.. if you have the uber metal than all you need is the power block.. jus get used to using the pedal as a pre-amp instead of your 5150's distortion for those few gigs

ya know, that would make for a good signature, but only for a week or 2

Re: Best Amp/Brand for Extreme metal?!?!?!

also consider the modelers since you can play em at low volumes and they sound decent - a line 6er never did no one harm and it has the "insane" channel so ya can dial in the ...welll... you know!

Re: Best Amp/Brand for Extreme metal?!?!?!

I wasn't suggesting getting a POD, just letting you know that it does work well with the Power Block.

For $150-$200 USD, you can't go wrong with the Power Block for what you're wanting to do. It can be used at low volumes and still sound decent, so long as whatever you use as your preamp is decent, it's compact as hell, and it's got wattage if you don't want to lug the 5150 somewhere.

Still look in to the power conditioner no matter what route you go. With conditions like you described, you need one. Last thing you want is the power from the wall swaying to far in one direction and you feeling it through your guitar.
