Hey, i'm new to home recording on the computer so I started looking into it and found out I need either a mic pre, a mixer, or a professional sound card. Now from what I understand since a mixer has a few channels, it'll be more expensive than a mic pre in the same quality.
So if i'm going for a mic pre, i'll need a good sound card to plug into or the quality will suffer, but that's extra money getting a mic pre and a sound card as well.
So I figured out that for my budget (50$-100$) i'll need either a mic pre with usb out so I wouldn't need a sound card, or a good soundcard with built in pre and an xlr input. I've also read somewhere that usb out pre aren't that good.
What do you guys suggest?
