Best Fender Strat replica manufacturer?

Re: Best Fender Strat replica manufacturer?

Andersons and Suhrs are great if you want to spend crazy amounts of money but the Carvins are really a best kept secret. Total Strat annihilation.

+1 on Carvin. I have a C66, which is a super strat steroid version of the Bolt model. Mahogany body/neck, quilted maple top, rosewood board with 12' radius, 22 SS frets, quilted maple headstock overlay, graphite nut, HSH setup with their Wilkinson model. You gotta chuck their Wilkinson unit and get something better. It's a VS50 model. Snag some used pickups and add on $130-$150 for a new solid trem and ou can have a freaking tricked out Strat for well under $1,500. I live in Boston and the weather is extremely bipolar and goes from dry air to extremely humid with in one day in the spring. This neck has not moved the slightest. It's extremely, extremely reliable. Where as with my masterbuilt guitars, I'm having constant issues with the neck bowing day by day. I'm looking at getting either another C66 or a Bolt, solid guitars dude.

This might sound concieted, but sometimes when playing some of my home brews it appears that I do. But I'm sure many of you can do it just as good as I can. Nonetheless with some other of my home brews its obvious that I failed. But thats guitars, they are all different.

Re: Best Fender Strat replica manufacturer?

I actually think the Carvin pickups (I've used MANY pickups over the years) are as good , or better, than any of the so called "big names". I wouldn't bother replacing them.
Also, the Wilkinson bridges and Sperzel tuners outclass Fender's stuff by a long shot.
I love Fenders, don't get me wrong. The Carvins are killer. ( I DON'T work for them!)
