Best HSS Guitars?

Re: Best HSS Guitars?

A used G&L! G&L has made several models over the years that are HSS. In the 80's they made the Invader & Interceptor. During the 90's they offered the Climax. In the late 90's the Invader name was revived.

a Charvel Model 3 is a kick ass HSS guitar... also check out some Kramers.. I've heard the newer Strikers aren't that bad. they have a 250 HSS Kramer Striker with a Floyd on Musicians Friend

Ya know, I have to agree here. Those new Strikers are not bad at all. The other guitar player in my band has the HSH model and I've done some work on it. It plays very nicely. The rails pickups are a bit overkill and we're going to change that. The set he's going for is a Custom bridge, APS-2 middle, PG neck configuration.

Re: Best HSS Guitars?

I'd like to buy one someday to have as a travel guitar.. ya know, just keep it in the car. then if I'm soemwhere and I want to play guitar I'll grab it:laugh2:

Re: Best HSS Guitars?

I'd have to agree w/ Erik on this one obviously. The old Kramer Pacer Custom 1's and 2's are exactly what you described. If you can find one that hasn't been modified, they have a JB/SSL1/SSL1 setup in them.

Re: Best HSS Guitars?

Since you're already using a MM, how about something like the Luke Model?

Hey Joe, Stevie Bees said the same thing. But - although, Luke is a huge influence, I never really got into the Luke model. Now his Valley Arts guitars? Yeah, those rock hard. I'm still looking. I'm not in too big a hurry though. My EBMM Morse covers the same basses an HSS guitar would. I have a coil tap that splits the humbuckers.
