best pedal for MArshall tone with a full tubes amp at home

Re: best pedal for MArshall tone with a full tubes amp at home

The Weehbo stuff is just a notch above everyone else IMHO... of course the pedals are fairly expensive, more so than most of the other models mentioned, but well worth the extra bucks.

The raw amp sound coming from my JMP Drive is ferocious and badgerlike... I've never heard a pedal capture the raw essence of an amp before until the Weehbp JMP Drive.

Here's a couple of clips I just recorded the other day... they are raw and fairly unprocessed (I boost mids to tape) but I think they capture the amp's bad attitude and thick yet detailed sound.

I think it quite capably turns my little vintage 6V6 1x10 combo into a very heavy hitter.

this sound cloud has got the JMP Drive on my list now ... ugh so many pedals to buy and try

My Weehbo JMP is fantastic. I love it and would recommend it to anybody that wants SERIOUS TOANZ.

do you know lovepedal purple plexi? it seems awesome
and sl drive ?

I will have the oportunity to test the SL Drive in few days.
But, honestly, that Bogner Blue Box sounds good as hell!

Re: best pedal for MArshall tone with a full tubes amp at home

The ZVEX Box of Rock is supposed to be a Marshall in a pedal.

Lovepedal makes great pedals for that. You can start your quest with the Purple Plexi.

Also...the 1 watt heads that they release last year or two years ago are great and very accurate.

I have a Box Of Rock. It sounds best in front of a British amp. The guy that had it before used it in front of a Vox with good results, and it also sounds good in front of a Marshall (of course), but in front of a Fender.....meh.....

Somebody also mentioned the OCD. That's a great pedal. I have one of those too. Money well spent.

I also have a Radial Plexuitube. It's a finicky pedal. Good tones can be found with it, but you have to really fiddle with the thing. And even when you do find something good, it still doesn't sound right, for some reason. So OP, don't waste your money and on one.

The best bet is to get a Bogner Extasy Blue. I've tried the Red and loved it, and others who own/have tried out the blue say that it does a much better job of doing Classic Marshall than the Red. I dare you to try one, it'll give ya a woody.

IFFLHO, the Plexidrive is nice. Another pedal that is Marshally but doth not try too hard to be one particular model is the Barber Direct Drive.

Thank you.
