Terry Kilgore's words.....
ok here is the long and short of it,i have posted this thread before some months back, edward purchased this 68 from the people that used to run the rose palace, john zatas people the rose palace was a big building down on south raymond in pasadena that used to build the floats for the rose parade ,sound logical? anyhow i think that everyone from jimi hendrix to jimi page and the whole faction that was giggin back then used that amp and a couple of others ,ed was 15 years old i believe when he acquired it,i saw led zeppelin and jethro tull on the same bill there in 69 wow we didnt barley know he these guys were, the rose palace was used for rock concerts there from 67 to almost 70 ,when they finally folded they sold off all there house equipment,ed got that amp with two cabs, wow for a young guy like that to save all that money from a paper route was somethin,i have a friend in washington dc tommy nyurges his name was that has a collection of photos in a book he dubbed shooting stars, that is absoulutly stunning i mean everyone that was anyone beck hendrix deep purple lee michaels crazyhorse you name it ,if tommy wanted to he could probably make a gozillion dollars they were such incredible black and white 8 by tens,it was so funny to see the audience from the reverse side of the photo pits, all the guys with regular boys haircuts and the girls with bee hives, yet the bands were all long haired and clothed in the wild fashion .nothing you would notice out of the ordinary these days, but man they stuck out like sore thumbs back then, what memories you guys stir up in this old cabeza of mine,.also ed always said to me yea i like that phillips tube ,he was talking about the 6ca7s ,good thing number 7 wasnt around back then or he might never have found a set, anyhow thats the way it was,i may have lost a great deal since then but my memory it was like yesterday,i had no idea i was a witness to future rock and roll history, cheers from the mind of grampy ,tt
