Best Solid State amp

Re: Best Solid State amp

Marshall MG100DFX because its distortion is so heavy and awesome. It has integrated effects (i only use delay because I dont use effectas except delay, wah, and distortion) and it is incredible. Clean channel is just what I need if I wanted to use it and has a crunch switch on the clean channel to go bluesy dirty if you wanted.

Ok let me think of the words... ok like at that price if you buy that over a nice bogner or fender or mesa then you should be shot.:firing: Just my opion of course.

Oh yeah, man, I know that. I would NEVER buy one. But the question was what is the best solid state amp, not what the best bargain was for one or whatever. I agree though, the price tag is insane.

Just kidding and a little shameless self promoting! :laugh2: For $35. it IS a steal though!

Call me crazy, but recently after getting back my Peavey Rage 158 for a short while after borrowing it to my friend, I had another whirl of the Rage before passing it back to my him and I was actually enjoying the tones I was getting out of it.

It hardly required any tweaking at all to get a cool sound. Certainly refreshing after wrangling with my 4 other amps for so long trying to squeeze as much as possible out of 'em.

Probably due to the 8" speaker and low-power rating, I had no trouble getting a punchy sound at bedroom volumes. Spanky clean tones to saturated Metal distortion.

Although the Rage still isn't perfect and I was probably on some sort of weird honeymoon with plugging into my very first amp again, the whole experience has kind of made me re-think everything gear-wise. This little beast was able to satisfy me far more quickly/easily than any other of the more expensive/bigger amps that I've ever owned.

TECH21NYC Trademark 60

Tech 21's are GREAT! I also can vouch for Line 6, and I also thought a Peavey XXL I had was good also!
