BEST Tele Bridge

Hey guys,
I recently put a 59 bucker in the neck of my Alder/maple tele. Major upgrade, very happy. But now I'm replacing the Bridge. Its currently the S.C.N.
I'm sticking with a single coil, but the S.C.N, although it does have bite, is a little to ice picky and dead sounding. I want something that is a bit ricker, fuller, more organic sounding. And still maintains the Fender/stratish/TELE tone, With crunch and bite. Ive red alot about broudcasters lately but am totally open, Any help would be great. Also looked at Texas specials...

Another vote for the Jerry Donahue. There was another recent thread about how good the Jerry Donahue tele bridge is in teles, and the man himself even showed up here to thank us for liking it. And Jerry is one of the greatest tele players on earth.

GFS makes some really nice pups, and they are easy on the wallet. Have heard there are several custom guitar makers starting to put only GFS pups in their guitars because they sound terrific and don`t break the bank to buy them.

Another kudos for the JD. I've owned a few of them. The Texas Specials are anywhere from 9-11k alnico 5 pickups. They're louder and a bit rawer/grainier-sounding. very good if you have a Tele with a rosewood fretboard and you play rock. Not so good if you have a maple fretboard and want to do classic Country. The Nocasters are great too. Alnico 3 and about 7.3k. They're loud and proud; just like Fender says. They have a thicker twang to them; which makes them good for about everything. Most vintage style Tele bridge pickups have a copper-plated steel plate underneath. The Nocaster's is zinc.

Put me down for the Jerry Donahue. Awesome tele pickup. It replaced the Texas Special in my 2010 Fender American Special Tele. I think the Texas Specials they put in these are different than ones in the past. Mine read a whopping 16.4K on the bridge:eyecrazy: Way too hot for my taste, though it did sound good, just not like a Tele. It gave my old Les Pauls a run for their money:lmao:

When I slapped the JD in my Tele, I thought to myself, "this is what a Tele is SUPPOSED to sound like!" Nice bite, chime, and growl with a good amount of clarity without sounding harsh or icepicky. Very punchy, too.

I'm looking for a bridge pickup for my '74 Telecaster. I found this thread interesting, and I may give the JD pickup a try. The Telecaster currently has a set of Quarter Pounder's in it.

I'd say that would be a good move. Unless you use huge gain the QP seems a bit much....not a pickup that would preserve much of the natural sound of the guitar IMHO
