Best Wah pedal

hi dudes...

i´m going to get a wah pedal next may, but i was wondering which one to get... Morley, Vox, Dunlop, Boss, Ibanez??? Theres a lot of brands and wahs out there...

which one do you have, or which one do you think is the best?

i´m only looking for 2 specs: 1. good tone (cut thru the mix) and 2.no hum, true bypass

I increadibly happy with Morley's Bad Horsie I. But I am not a good whah user, just getting into it. No noise, practically no change in tone, it has true bypass, but I have an impression that when I am pluged in to it, my mids are slightly tightened up. The way I like to put it: gives my strat a little bit of an SG touch.

Pro Analog Supa Quack, my end-all wah. I bought it in February of '05 and have been happy ever since.

I have a Budda Wah that is quiet and very responsive to the slightest pedal movement. Sounds Great, True By-Pass and almost a Seymour Duncan purple!

i really like the bad horsie.. but there are a lot of very different sounding wahs out there. Ive got a behringer hellbabe, which i really like, and for $60 AU, which is about 40 US, its a steal. Better than the Boss wah in my ME-50, lol

If we are talking vintage wah sound the Fulltone Clyde probably is you best choice.
If we're talking modern metal wah(what i assume by your nick and equipment) i'll give you some basics on what i own myself:

1. Dunlop Crybaby from Hell: ultra-adjustable wah. Cuts through any mix i've seen so far and has some killer metal tone. Can be set for about any style you could want because of the controls and has a volume boost which is very useful for leads. Of course it's super-solid build-wise and it looks cool. Not true bypass, but i don't get hum or noise from it or coloration to my tone, so i guess that's good enough

2.Morley Bad Horsie I: Not true bypass either but also doesn't deliver noise so it doesn't bother me. Because of the switchless design it's lots faster to activate than a dunlop and therefore very practical to accentuate single notes or harmonics in a really fast solo or rhythm. It cuts through very well and works best under high gain. There's a pretty aprubt jump into treble frequencies when you sweep the pedal what is a bit unusual at first but also makes this pedal unique sounding. I wouldn't use it for longer passages but as wah for fast solos and shredding it's unbeatable imo(It's vai's signature so its purpose is pretty obvious). Also very solid in construction.

Hmmm I read that bad horsie I is a true by pass ... any way I agree with Mao on the single note stuff the censor switch is super practical or even just on the chord between pedal notes.

I can't believe no one is giving any love to the CryBaby. I like the Vox and the Clyde, but come on--dollar for dollar the CryBaby is the one. I have two, both with the Fasel inductors. I'm not super technical but that little red thing really does make all the difference, adding up to a very sweet, musical sweep. My favorite is my 535Q with the auto return--you put your foot on it and it's on, take your foot off and it turns off. I set the boost about half-way and it rules. Oh yeah!

What's the difference between using the crybaby wah-wah say..on the Boss GT8, rather than using the Crybaby-wah pedal seperately? Are there any differences???? I've never tried a Crybaby on it's own...On the GT8, the sound get's very sharp if you use the wah, is it like this with a seperate Crybaby wah-pedal?

I was ready to blow a wad of cash on a botique until I played the Ibanez Weeping Demon. Stupid name....stupid look....amazing pedal.

If there's an option a Wah can have, it's on there.

i´ve had already a mr. crybaby volume/wah pedal, i didn´t like some specs of the pedal... f.e. i don´t like to start by pressing a button and turn on the pedal on the top or the range...i prefer to turn the pedal on, on the midle, so i like the switchless morleys, but some people has told me that morley doens´t cover as much range as vox or dunlop wahs do, and my guitar techer has told me to try the weeping demon also, but i don´t want a pedal with 200 billion options, i only want to put the foot on the pedal and hear a good tone...

so, i think i´ll try the bad horsie first...

If you dig the bad horsie i say go for it. Mine has been 100%reliable to me, is solidly built and i happen to dig the tone! Is a very smooth wah.

My other guitarist uses the Ibanez, i was gonna go all thumbs up, got a good sound, solidly built (apart from...), very adjustable. The only problem has been recent, when in the manual switching mode (where you step onto the button to turn it on), the button has got pretty unreliable, sometimes not switching on/off. Its a recent occurrence but a pain never the less, so that has left a black mark in my mind to that pedal. Otherwise it is awesome.

I just got myself a vox 847 wah sounds really smooth, it has been modded for true bypass which is really good. I tried the crybaby first and thought it was too harsh and abrubt for my taste too much treble bite, the vox has a really nice hendrixy smooth tone but with clarity.

For normal money, the Budda Bud Wah is great. If you want to spend more, and end your search for life, either the Fulltone Clyde or Clyde Deluxe is the way to go. Teese also makes several great wahs, but I've never listened to them back to back, so I can't comment on the differences.
