Thanks. Just to reiterate and expound on my above suggestion for anyone who might want to try it, you *need* to introduce a significant neck angle for this to work. Needs to be akin to an SG or the like, not typical Fender shim angles. I would definitely use a form fitting full-pocket shim, not the typical short shim used on bolt necks. A maple wedge with any angle you want can be cut on a table saw with a fair amount of ease.
^Good info. Itsabass has a good point that using a Bigsby with no retainer would probably allow better break angle and clearance than either the 'F' or B5 . The B16 has none after all. In fact from the above pictures, it looks like it would be more difficult (vs. a B5) to adjust an 'F' Bigsby to not drag on the rear part of the bridge, even if it does provide you with greater break angle.
