I have a couple of G&L, Asat Classic Custom's with wood top binding. They look nice, but the edge of the guitar is sharper and cuts into my arm. The non bound Asat's have rounded edges and are easier on the arm.

The wood binding doesn't show up very well on the copper Asat.

The binding shows up better on the redburst Asat.

Binding on a Tele? Ugh - Lee and totally against the Tele Ideal.

Slab of resonant wood + comfortable neck + ballsy pickups = Tele

Any additions to the left side of that means needless additions to the right side

I wanted a 62 RI Fender in Black with double binding but was removed from catalogue some time back. The only other option was for an import from Fender Japan - but that model now has reduced spec PUPS.

So I grabbed this Chinese model for.... $160 !

Unbound is by far the standard and a personal fave of mine, but the other two options are still very good looking. You can't go wrong whichever way you go
