Hey guys, anyone know how much it would coost me to blackface my super reverb and if there's anyone in the Memphis, TN area that can do it? I'd appreciate some help!
CapoFirstFret said:that is quite a distance to ship my amp though...I was hoping to not have to ship it so i wouldn't have to worry for about 2 or 3 weeks or more while I wait to make sure it got there safely, got the work done, and mailed back to me safely...I just really don't trust any of the shipping companies enough to put this in their hands...

Gerald Weber (whom I like a lot, but gets trashed quite often) has a little kit with all the components you'll need. I've even got a VHS tape that shows you how to do it. It's not that hard. But, you do have to know how to discharge your caps.
Here's what happened to me when I did mine though... you'll find a lot more components that need attention once you get in there. I had several capacitors just crumble when I tried to move them a bit with my chopstick. Next thing you know, you''ll be doing a complete overhaul.
Another option since you are talking about coming to TX to pick up your amp is to just bring it with you and we'll blackface it over a few beers.

He gets beat up a lot because he's such an enthusiastic salesman for his own stuff. But, you have to know that going into it, right? He's a hoot to talk to live. He's got so much experience, I learn something new every time I talk to him.
I got to meet him at one of the Dallas guitar shows a while back. That was even funnier.
He signed one of his books to me with something like "To Scott: I hope this book lasts longer than my new thirty bucks does!"
