Yeah when I disconnect the battery there is no pop or anything, everything remains the same. I'm going to solder in my old battery clip and see if it fixes the problem

i connected my old battery clip, soldered it into the batery bus the way it says to and to the output jack, still the same thing, i also tried different brand new batteries and nothing.. need to find a way to get the newer quick conect wiring harness that comes with the newer blackouts, and get some new 25k pots. im done with this "solderless" kit.. i cant just use the hardwires from the pickup either because i cut them too short -_-

Connecting or disconnecting the 9v battery from the clip whilst the guitar is amplified should produce a loud pop noise through your amplifier - even when no pickup is connected to the wiring loom.

I would be tempted to test the jack socket contacts. Establish that all three spade terminals grip firmly. With the guitar amplifier, touch something metallic on the tip contact of the TRS jack socket. This should produce a sound. If it does, the finger of suspicion points at the Solderless output cable between the jack and your volume pot.

I'm a month late, but from the pics you posted, the pick up may have been grounding out from the earth connection in the pickup cavity. Metal on metal...
