Blog: One Man's Tele-Story

Re: Blog: One Man's Tele-Story

The one production tele I think hit the nail on the head was the Fender 52 Hot Rod Telecaster w/Duncan SM-1n mini humbucker and a vintage tele bridge.

I'd imagine a Jerry Donahue/SM-1n would be one of the best tele pickup combos ever. After hearing the Duncan firebird mini necks in teles, I'm sold on it as a tele neck. Mate that with your favorite tele bridge like a Donahue or 53 tapped, and you may just be amazed at how your tele sounds.

By the way, here's a guitar I've been playing a lot. My version of the Tele Gib. Only it's the Stra Tele Fire Gib Pinecaster.
C-59/SM-1n.

This is exactly what I have in mind for a tele, project.
