blues retry

Re: blues retry

jazz camp was a gift from god. I attribute all of my improvement to that wonderful place

Re: blues retry

Nice.

The lead is almost perfect, save for a few tiny misfrets. The rythym should be redone, and instead of "chug chug chug" it should go "chugga chugga chugga," less stop and start and more up/down beats.

But you are improving at a rate that is beyond comprehension almost. I mean that little song you wrote (I assume), if recorded again (rythym) and played slightly differently, could sound so *darn* good it could be put on the user CD. You using SDs?

I got ya. thanks for the compliments

No, this isn't on using SDs. i could buy one though. I might

this is with the stock neck pickup in the Barclay. So, the tones good?

Re: blues retry

Tone's fine. Could be better, but it only can't be better if you're Slash or something. But what's really impressive is the originality and the execution. You played it really well, and it's both not boring and not too innovative.

Thanks, I appreciate it. I'm just getting my hands around improv. This is the first track that turned out well.

Re: blues retry

It had some good tone, definitely, and nice run of notes towards the beginning, but some of the solo sounds slightly off beat. Was this a direct improv?

Idk, I kind of liked the rhythm. It made the song sound more like an upbeat jazz tune.

very happenin', young padawan !!!

first, your rhythm playing has grown TREMENDOUSLY ... very sweet freddie green thing you had workin there - that'll take you far in any school jazz ensembles you play with in the coming years ... you had that 'just a little ahead of the beat' thing goin' like guitarists comping with organ trios like to do - i LOVE that!

and very nice restraint on the solo part too ... much more 'certitude' in your playing and the rh/lh synchrony has REALLY clicked for you ... nice note choices ... i see that the turn around is the last thing you need to get your head and ears around .. don't worry - i've been playing almost twice as long as you've been alive and i still cant nail turn arounds on the fly without resorting to canned licks i've memorized :D .. you'll be givin me lessons and advice in a few months

nicely done
thanks for sharing
