Boss SD-1 / older MXR ZWOD

From what I understand,the MXR was/is pretty much a modded Boss pedal.

Anyone know what the Miod is,hear the diff of the top of your head?
More/diff Mids/Gain?

i had a gtod. The regular sound sounded like a fulldrive, and the ZW setting sounded more compressed and dirtier.
Compared to an old MIJ sd-1 (which i believe sounds more or less the same as the modern korean ones? I've only got an old one) the SD1 is a little looser and squishier.
To be honest tho, they all sound pretty good thru a marshall, but i have an emotional attachment to the old sd-1. It just puts a grin on my face when i use it.
