Bought two guitars... late night browsing...

Hi, not sure when I'll get these... was browsing the internet and went down a rabbit hole and ended up on the Thormann website. Not only do they have super crazy cheap guitars but they seem to have name-brand guitars at really good prices (Lizzy Hale Explorer was only $550). plus, they have excellent prices for cases and bags. PLUS they have a $33 shipping fee for the entire purchase... I dunno... I might never see these guitars, but I thought I'd give it a shot.

Gibson SG Custom clone:



Gibson Goldtop with P-90s clone:


Plus two cases and shipped to USA for $400. Worst case I don't like them and can sell them locally for $150 each. I'll be sure to report out once I get them.

Anyone have experience with Thomann or Harley Benton?

I have heard nothing but rave reviews about most Harley Benton guitars (especially the Indonesian ones) for numerous friends and youtube reviews.

Is the SG meant to be that colour or is my monitor f***ed?

It is supposed to be vintage white, or cream. The Epi version is more yellow:




The Gibson is more subtle.

I have a friends with an HB - he replaced some guts, but solid guitar.

That's much nicer. Maybe in a different light, the HB looks brighter, less "brown".

I read the same. Jeez. For $140 for a set neck guitar, hard to beat. We will see if the hype matches the reality. Plus, what else do I have to do anyway!?

Bought guitars on Friday 3/20. They shipped today according to Thomann. Let's see how long it takes!

aw shouldn't be long, then they hung on to mine for almost 2 weeks before shipping

Just got notice that the packages cleared customs in Chicago yesterday. So they are in the USPS system. Hopefully will see an update tomorrow. My guess is it goes to NYC tomorrow, then into CT and finally to me. Maybe by Friday I'll have them? Bought them on 3/20 so not too bad.

I've got a HB 1x12 cab (with a Celestion V30) from them. It was cheaper than buying only the speaker...

Still waiting on the guitars. The package was in Chicago on 4/1, with no update other than "moving in the USPS system". There are bigger issues in the world so I can be patient...

A few quick pics. They are VERY nice. The color on the SG is more yellow then expected but I think a black pickguard would help.

Overall I can’t believe how nice these are for the $$. I’ll post a more detailed review shortly.
