Bringing my '86 H-170CM back into fighting shape

Re: Bringing my '86 H-170CM back into fighting shape

I caught a glimpse of that in a picture above and I was wondering what that 27fret neck went to, thats very nice as well. Reminds me of the split fretboard guitars that feature a diagonally cut fretboard with two different woods, similar to the natural patterns on yours.

The board on the Hamer is killer, unfortunately the guitar was used by a performance art/ group and it took some abuse, the frets were mauled. I'll do a post on it when I have the whole guitar here, that one will be a big save. I like bringing good guitars back to life, it's a lot of fun.

Beautiful. Definitely better without scratchplate. I would go for nickel covered HBs, but that's just my taste. And that neck wood is wonderful!

Unless I really need a 3way, push pull pots are my first choice. Don't like drilling extra holes in the body. Don't mind drilling a pickguard, like on a Strat, because it's replaceable. For a kill switch a mini momentary button is a better choice in that space than a mini toggle. Although the 2 vol setup you can just turn down one pup and use the pup selector toggle, using the button keeps down wear on the toggle switch.
