BROBUCKER clip!!!

OKay like everyone I have been awaiting the brobucker. I really wasn't sure what to expect, I figured I would put it in my Santana 1. It has an antiquity in the neck with an A3 mag. It had a C5 in the bridge, I liked it but always open for new things. I had tried an antiquity bridge and even with full A2, A3, and A5 mags I never liked it at all. Got home late from work tonight, threw it in (after removing the cover (trembecker/zebra like the original pu's in the Santana). I had to lay something down for you all to hear. I was very impressed. Very well balanced overall. Bass was full, mids punchy and highs nice and chimey but not harsh. Biggest problem was deciding what type of track to record, as it was now getting late. Thought I would keep the sound clean so you could hear the pu. Recorded it staight into my custom amp using a sennheiser 421 mic right into the computer. Tried to play up and down the neck so you could hear the full spectrum and hear the beautiful open sound it has. Not my best clip but still the pu sound does come through. Hope this doesn't scare off you young metal players but I am sure you guys can do an overdriven tone way better than me.

ps only the lead is the brobucker the backing track is 'borrowed'

Re: BROBUCKER clip!!!

Sorry for the sloppy little clip but it was late so a one take little tease was the best I could offer. I have yet to really put it through all the paces. Looking forward to cranking it up a little.
The amp I used for the clip had a blackface pre-amp and cathode-biased 6L6's(7581's actually). The speaker Z mic'd was a celestion blue.
I was really not sure what to expect out of this. I wasn't even in the market for anew one. Kind of got sucked in by all the talk oz a 10 K pu. So far I am very pleasantly impressed. More open sounding than the C5, well balanced!

Re: BROBUCKER clip!!!

I'm curious about how it compares to the C-5, since that's what I'm replacing with the Brobucker. My Brobucker has been in limbo with UPS for the past couple days, since our office was closed on President's day. I sure hope they show up again with my pickup, because I want to install it tonight.

How's the ouput and feel, compared to the C-5?

Re: BROBUCKER clip!!!

Sounds very nice to me. About like I expected. Like a 59 without the woofy bass, has a open top end and more (desperately needed) mids. Now to find a guit to put it in :yell:

Re: BROBUCKER clip!!!

Ah... that sounds EXACTLY like the stock bridge pickup of my Squier Strat. Ok... it doesn't actually...
