bugera tri-rec???

so I've been wanting to get one of these tri-recs for a while now. I'm curious if the line out is emulated? i would like to get one but i wanna be able to plug directly into my interface. i have a 333xl infinium and it doesn't have an emulated line out. so plugging directly into an interface or PA system isn't an option. anyone have any experience with these amps?

Re: bugera tri-rec???

I checked out/played one at a local store a few months ago...quite a beast! No emulated output as far as I could see (and I looked), just a regular adjustable line-out like the 333XL has. You could always pick up an AMT Chameleon cab sim pedal/ADA GCS-3 or something similar to use....they're a useful investment and they sound great for not too much $$. Mooer/Joyo/Moen etc (Chinese makers) make them for even less.

Re: bugera tri-rec???

how would you compare the tri rec to the hughes and kettner tubemeister 36? the tri rec obviously has more power. but the tubemeister has the redbox di out. and th purpose of the new head is so i can plug into my interface to record.

Re: bugera tri-rec???

Not 100% sure on this, but I think the Tri-Rec uses 6L6s while the 333XL uses EL34s but is easily convertible to 6L6s...not sure about how convertible the Tri-Rec is.

I had a 333XL and loved it–massive tone and an awesome drive. I did feel like the 3rd channel was just a muddier version of the 2nd channel but that is a personal opinion.

I really like Bugera Amps, never had issues with them from a quality standpoint. Some folks have and there are many debates out there about how good/bad Bugeras are.

Play one and see what you think :)

i have the 333xl infinium now. it is amazing. had it for about 2 years. i switched the el34's to 6l6's. never had a problem with it. ive heard demo videos for the tri-rec and it sounds amazing but i want an amp i can plug directly into my interface and record. i dont wanna mess with micing my cab at this point. thats why i was more leaning towards the hughes and kettner tubemeister 18 or 36. since they have the red box emulated direct out. i looked into the mesa cab clone and for what they cost id rather just buy the H&K and be done with it. just wasnt sure if the tri-rec had an emulated out. I've emailed bugera and no response yet.

Gotcha. I don't know if it has the line out or not, not something I need so I never looked at that aspect.
Best of luck! :)

Re: bugera tri-rec???

Pretty sure the Trirec lacks an emulated output. The new Bugera G-20 (20W) Infinium has one though (and 20 watts is more than ample for a studio/recording amp) ...should be fine for recording straight into the interface ..sounds pretty nice too!

Re: bugera tri-rec???

Go Effects Send into the computer, and add a cab simulator (and maybe a power amp sim to taste) there. More versatile. Emulated out gives you *one* cab sound, and if it sucks, that's all you get. ;)
