I'm trying to capture some of that Mark Knopfler Komet tone he has on several albums, namely Shangrila. If this one turns out well, Stratman is going to have a seriously hard time waiting for the 2nd one.

Ya, you never know. When I can get the note to "bloom" and "blossom", I hope to be there. It's all a crap shoot. There's so much to Knopfler's tone that isn't amp-related.
Larry, no promises on this one. Lots has to happen still. I'm putting a lot of hope into these transformers. These are unique and a first for the guy I use.
If it doesn't work , I'll scrap it.

The truth is that to me a Trainwreck express and a Komet 60 really don't sound all tht similar...there is some overlap of some tones but by and large they are 2 different things.
Also, the other biggie is that a lot of that bloom you hear Mark get has way more to do with a vintage Les Paul and ES-335 than the amp he's using...that and Mark's amazing touch and ability as a player!
All that said, best of luck...Wrecks are pretty simple circuits but tend to get guys really twited up...lots of gain in a hurry and 99.8% of the schematics on the nt are not complete, based on speculation or just flat out wrong.

This surprises me...I remember a while back you and I agreeing that Wrecks and Dumbles were both over rated...odd that now you'd buy a Wreck clone.

Scott.... I have a Komet60 so if you are looking for any info I may be able to help. I am not a gearhead so I can't tell the difference betweem resistors or caps by looking at them, but I play through my Komet nearly every day. It is the most tonefull amp and harmonically alive amp I have ever played through. I would be interested to hear it when its done.
Are you going to have the Fast/gradual switch on yours?
