Re: Cab facelift.... first pics.
Today I took this rig into my factory unit to try it at volume before next weeks first gig with it and al I can say is ........ Wow. I don't know if was the combination of the "X" pattern of G65's and G12H Anni's, the port in the back or the fact that I was able to turn this loud MoFo up just past half but I couldn't stop playing. It has loads of thump and the highs are not as sharp as my V30 loaded RK cab. Whilst this sounded fantastic in isolation next weeks gig will see how it fits in the band mix and whilst I know there are many that knock V30's, they do sit nice in a full band set up. I was excitied just taking the covers off before even playing as I made covers and put it away in the garage. All in all it was well worth the effort even though at times I thought I had bitten off more than I could chew. So to you guys who are thinking about re-covering your amp or cab, as long as you aren't ripping apart something you already like or is new it's worth the effort just for satisfaction of knowing you've done it yourself. Once again, thanks to Ayrton and Butnut for the inspiration!
