Re: Cable Length

mostly 15 ft but that depends on the stage we're playing on so i've already played gigs with 20s or 10s but most of the time 15s are just right.

Re: Cable Length

I use 20's but I think a 15 would be better, it's enough length and I wouldn't have that extra 5 foot coiled on the floor waiting to trip me up!

Re: Cable Length

I use 20'. I found myself leaning too far and unplugging/breaking 10-footers, so I use 20 now.

Re: Cable Length

I have a 10 and 20 foot Fender. I use the one that best fits the situation.

No longer than 20 ft as it degrades signal. I would buy Voodoo cables www.voodooamps.com
Last time I checked instrument cables have practically zero impedance. Which means as long as your cable is shielded your signal should have no degradation regardless of the length.

BTW, I use 20'.

Well try that again when you have played for a lengthy amount of time.
If it is bad, say hi to a nice capacitator disguised as a cable.
And the current will drop after 5 meters.

I'm not sure I follow what you are saying. Are you talking about a damaged cable?

Resistance doesn't matter. What matter is capacitance. Having a high capacitance is what will cause signal degradation.

Re: Cable Length

My buddy sold me these two roadhog 25 footers that are supposed to be some sort of super shielded ultra low impedence heavy duty plug nonsense... Once i played on one they sounded so much clearer than my 15 foot planet waves that i had no problem paying $85.99 Canadian each. I gave one to a girlfriend who plays bass and the other one is unbreakable.

Re: Cable Length

Planet Waves only makes 10' and 20' versions of the cables with one right angle! It sucks! Otherwise I'd use 15 feet.

I have 15 feet cords running out to my pedalboard from the FX loop, as I didn't hear any difference between Livewires and Planet Waves in the loop. I have two 10' and one 20' of the PW's, so one 10' is in my room for practicing with my cheapy crate/v-amp, and I alternate between the other 10' and the 20' from guitar to amp, usually use the 10' though.
