Re: Can a fixed bridge ever be mounted on guitar that was routed for a Floyd Rose?
Kahler fixed or kahler hybrid w/ lock screw.
Kahler also offers covers to fit trem routes for floyd, vintage, system 1, edge, and others.
If the hole in the back bothers you, wedge a block of a decent tonewood into it.
How it's done (this one's set to float, but you can lock it down - screw through the middle hole. Block of tonewood through the rout, kahler cover on the top to cover up gaps left around the installed kahler bridge. Actual guitar owned by yours truly (though I wasn't the one that did the mod):

I started this thread without a specific guitar in mind. It's just that I've seen Floyd routed guitar bodies on eBay here and there I've thought would be cool to build up, but I'm not interested in having a Floyd bridge - I'd prefer a hardtail if anything.
There's some cool work shown in this thread but definitely more than I'd want to do. I guess when you put in a Floyd it's usually a one way modification.
