Can anyone give us any tips?

Re: Can anyone give us any tips?

You sound great - keep going, nice guitar sounds, you sound like you're enjoying youselves which is the main thing. Enthusiasm is infectious.

Just re-read my post and it sounds patronising which I don't mean to be. You've got something good going here.

Hey,

You have a tight band there. I like the style and you remind me of the Plimsouls. My critique would be write stronger songs. The chorus melodies could be more memorable.

Rock on!

Hey, I listened to all four songs and really liked them all. I particularly liked the way the vocal line plays against the chords in Free Again.

There is something I noticed in Goodbye Unmastered but I didn't go back to see if it was the case in other songs ........... The bass is playing exactly the root note of every chord so the changes become predictable and somewhat lacking in interest. Try moving the bass notes around in the chord a little bit. Let it grind outside the chord too. Try to avoid always changing the base note at the same time and in the same direction as the chords.

For example: If the chords progresses from Dm to F to A# to A, the bass player could play D, then F, then stay on F (while the guitar chord is A#), then move the bass note to E (when the guitar chord moves to A) .... and so on. Work on separating parts to create and relieve tension.

I'm not picking on the bass player. I'm only using that as an example. I think you guys sound great!

Thanks guys. This is exactly what I want. We'll work on the bass lines. We're really trying to nail down everything and really get tight with one another. Just practicing as much as possible.

wow you guys seem super young. way to be ahead of the pack! yeah the songs have a nice indy rock vibe to them. not my bag but you do it pretty well.

just be sure to experiment and branch out a lot. its easy to get into an autopilot mode where youre just dishing out generic rock songs. hell i do it all the time, all my stuff sounds like generic thrash metal

very nice, guys. excellent singing there. only thing i'd suggest is a more grittier approach. those instruments need more abuse:) but don't take this too seriously, i am a punk guitarist after all. just keep your vibe going on. and i am really impressed with the singing, that there is really a top class rock vocal, just don't turn boy-band on us :)
