Can I Ash you a question?

I have been doing a fair amount of finish work lately, but waiting for lacquer to fully cure sucks. Bored I dug through my body stash and found this finished MJT body I bought a few years ago (eBay score).

You can see it is supposed to be a "La Cabronita" Tele, but I didn't have another set of Filtertrons. I messed around with various configurations, but nothing really fit the way I wanted it to. I didn't really want to have to buy anything, just put something together with parts I already had.

When I came across an old brass bridge, I thought I might have enough parts to make it work.

Add some zebra pups (Antiquity JB/Jazz) and we are off!

I agree, it looks awesome.... it’s nearly Christmas please send it to me!

Re: Can I Ash you a question?

Looks cool.

A cream half pickguard and a tone knob, and I would actually own that baby myself.

In all seriousness, that is a truly unique looking guitar. I can only imagine what it sounds like!

What is MJT?

Edit:

Also thank you for not using the regular tele jack.

I believe most (if not all) the bodies MJT offers are from Guitar Mill. I have used several over the years and yet to have a dud.

Re: Can I Ash you a question?

The neck is Allparts TRO-W that I refretted with stainless and finished in Tru oil.

The brass parts are mostly NOS Charvel/Schecter era parts, the rest are various old gold parts.

:D

Re: Can I Ash you a question?

That sure is a great looking Telecaster guitar! Is the fret board ebony?

Re: Can I Ash you a question?

No, using dye will make it black black. I use Minwax ebony stain and it buffs out to nice dark brown. Just wipe on, wipe off.

I actually have a can of Minwax ebony stain that I used to stain the rosewood fret board on my '98 Fender American Std. Strat and the results turned out very well. The FB on your guitar looks real good and it really does look like an ebony FB.
