odd that an R8 copy would have 490 PU's in it... can't really tell from the photos but if it is really a hand made guitar by a good builder it could be nice... but like some of the others have said a guitar in that price range needs to be seen in person before the money is laid down... also there is too many cheap Gibson fakes out there so you would have to do some research into the builder they claim it's from and maybe find out if he did build that guitar or if it's someone pushing a fake of a fake

There really aren't enough photos here to tell.
I need a shot of the pickup route and the neck tenon, and that allows a look at what the maple top looks like.
But yes, apart from the goofy burst on the back (which is a real WTH item), the choice of pickups also indicates that this is more of a intermediate shot at a vintage LP than a serious clone.
It also has fret-over binding frets which isn't a real historical item either and I'm not sure I'd pick a relic job on the back of the neck.
That's not to say it's not a $1600 guitar. The execution of the burst (as in the paint) and the choice of an interesting flame maple piece of wood are good signs. This might be a killer axe on it's own.

You should be able to find one for $700 used.
