This is a question with no answer........or maybe as many answers as there are players or guitars.
If you like a Gibson PAF or a vintage fender singlecoil as your best/ideal pickup, then there will never be a better pickup made ever. If you want something that is not yet made, then maybe there will be.

That's how I view it but with a larger Array of guitars + Pickups
