Guys, i think i got some good news today !

I have a Vox AC15.
my local mom&pop store told me thay are getting a shipment of Laney's in, in about 6-8weeks from now.

I always wanted a stereo amp set-up.
Can you run a 15W (1x12) w. a bigger 30W (also a 1x12), without the 30W over-powerring the "smaller" 15W amp ?

The amp that the owner said he can give me a good deal on is a "blem" (yup, blem even before he got it, but he said it is a 'tolex-only' blem), is a Laney VC30, like this :

So is the 15 vs. 30 not too big of a jump in wattage ?
Will/can Vox hang w. the Laney ?

Man, i am soo excited about the idea of having a second, "bigger" amp !!!

Thank you guys.

It's possible. You could put a lower efficiency speaker in the 30W and a higher in the 15W. Our ears perceive sound differently than it looks on paper, so the 30W, to our ears, will not sound much lounder. A 5W amp isn't only 10% as loud as a 50W amp, it's 50% as loud!

That is just too much specualtion already, try it and figure it out, it is something that alot of people have been doing for a long time, and it works very well!
With no mojomods and speakervoodoo as well!
It will be just shiny really!

basically, to elaborate kjrocks point, doesn't matter if they are different wattages, what matters is that they can both be set to a loud enough volume for the stage and still match each other in volume.

Re: Can you play a 15W in stereo w. a 30Watter ?

Yeh as long as they aren't both full volume it will be fine cos volumes can always be made to match!

But nobody says the HAVE to match. Maybe they'll sound good mixed at different levels. Who knows? Experiement.

I would love to bet a Celes. Blue for the AC15 ! I do not know if it is a more efficient speaker than the stock one, but right now, they are kinda pricey :34:
