Carvin does not manufacture any of the raw speakers or horn drivers; we have always made arrangements with reputable private label manufacturers to supply us with speakers. We design and make the cabinets and electronics, but the actual speakers themselves are custom built to our exacting specifications. Yes, in the past we have used
Eminence, B&C, JBL, Gauss, Electro-Voice, Motorola, Reinkus-Heinz, Jensen, Celestion and Motorola just to name a few; and currently we are using another very reputable manufacturer known for outstanding value and high quality. All of our speaker cabinets are designed in-house by our engineering staff using special computer software to help optimize performance and maximize the efficiency of each driver and measurements are calculated based upon the Thiele Small Parameters of each driver so that the proper dimensions of the cabinet can be used for tuning the speakers for the best possible sound quality, clarity, and power handling. Carvin does extensive testing and real-world field evaluations of each product to ensure high quality, reliable performance, and longevity.
