Re: Category #16 Submissions: Best LIVE shot

I should really be submitting in more categories....but here's one I always liked.

Nice, dark-n-gnarly...modded Strat leaning with no fear 'gainst a rock machine. No blues lawyer posery.

I don't mean to be a snake here but isn't it only 1 submission per member / per category?

Re: Category #16 Submissions: Best LIVE shot

IF you get chosen…I'll choose which one. YOUR options are specify your entry or delete the non-entires.

But hess - one per customer per submission category.

I'll specify the Tele. I was switching back and forth between the tele and the pedal steel on whichever song that was. It might have been Good Hearted Woman or Whiskey River, I'm pretty sure it was in the 4th set, as there's no way I would have been inebriated enough to do that earlier.

Oh I see, sorry. Then my entry shall be the Firebird one.

Re: Category #16 Submissions: Best LIVE shot

Bet that Gibbie would be worth a mint.. Was it killer?
At first it was but flat did not stay together on the road. Soft frets that wore quickly and the silver nitro finish turned purple then green before it cracked to heck and back within 3 years. Traded it even in 1992 for the 1989 Sapphire Blue flame Carvin DC 200C I played on the road for many years and never looked back!
Worked for a Gibson dealer and the U2 was one of only 200 of the "showcase" Here is an add for one like it.

That Carvin blew it out of the water in every way!! Rock solid every night on the road and would still own it if it weren't so @#$@ heavy (was solid ROCK maple neck and body with an ebony board think Norlan era Les Paul HEAVY!!) and started killing my back to play on a long set! After 20+ years of my using it as a road dog the old girl was very clean never so much as had a fret dress and had almost no fret wear when I sold it!! Had a buddy who always loved it and made me an offer I couldn't refuse so---.

Here she be .
