Nice. Very PAF-ish sounding. It has that certain open-woody sound to it but just enough compression. Pretty cool from a 14.4k pickup huh?

I think that it the dirty midrange which makes it sound open-woody.

It's definitely that plus the amp you're using and the guitar it's in. It sounds different in my rig. Not quite as open-woody.

My guitar is a chambered LP type guitar. It's a bit on the bright side with respect to a normal LP. Perhaps this is why.

That could be why. Chambered guitars always add a little something extra, and usually for the better too. That is a sweet tone.

The CC isn't exactly a one-trick pony. It's all in how you utilize it. But yeah, when it gallops it does shine.
