Celestion G12T-100 & Retro 30 in a AC-30???

I'm thinking about stealing the Greenbacks out of my AC for a short period of time and then replacing them with Blues, eventually? For now I was going to put in a G12T-100 and a WGS Retro 30 75w speaker in there until I have the near $500 to drop on a pair of Blues. How do you guys think this combination will sound coming out of my AC-15CC2 Twin? I'd rather make a couple smaller 1x12 cabinets out of the Greenbacks, or perhaps load my 2X12 with them, for my 5W-15w heads. Is this a mistake or should I give it a shot?

Go for it. You never know, you might like how it sounds. And putting the GBs into a 2x12 for the small wattage heads is also a good idea.

That's kinda what I was thinking? I use my 5-15 watt heads more than the AC & the Greenbacks would certainly compliment them better than the Seventy/80's I'm running in my 2X12 cabinet now! As far as the AC goes, I'm hoping for the VOX sound but with a touch more headroom, perhaps this will lead to that? If not I also have a AC-30 TB so the VOX tone will still be in reach if this doesn't work out.

I guess my other option would be to just replace one of the Greenbacks? I could toss in the Reto 30 & pair it with one Greenback, in the end that may actually be a better way to go? I would still get a Greenback to put in my 1x12 cabinet that I run my Blackstar and TS15 heads through & I know that a Greenback/Vintage 30 combo in a AC is a winning setup! If the Retro 30 has the same basic characteristics as the Vintage 30 like they say it does, that could end up being a speaker combination that would stay for good? I know that the two speakers are different monsters & the Retro has a bit brighter tone but from what demos I've seen on them they seem like they have the same kind of midrange & that's what I'm interested in bringing to the VOX?
