Changing of the guard? from PRS to EB

Re: Changing of the guard? from PRS to EB

I wonder if this uptick in EB sightings is due the car effect. Like when you buy a new car or pick out a car you want to buy then you start seeing that everyone has one.

Re: Changing of the guard? from PRS to EB

I only like the MM basses. The PRS's are still pretty good, and I love the hollowbody shape. I'm using a Mike Mushok Baritone set to Dropped B.

The MM basses are IMO, way better than most on the market, besides a Fender Jazz. I have one of each, and I'm not sure which one I like more. I'm leaning towards the Stingray bass, because it's got the 5 way switch on it for coil tapping, but I think Fender makes an all around better bass. My three JBasses have lasted me for over 9 years without any form of visible wear or damage, where as the two EB basses that I have are little more worse for wear and I've only had them for 4 or 5.

So PRS's are still better guitars than the EB ones to me, but the Music Man basses are some of the best on the market.

I know what you mean about the car effect.. But, I dont care to get an EB guitar..

the most recent one I saw is Chelsea grin. 3 guitarists all playing Petruccis.

PRS and EB/MM both make some of the best built and factory set up guitars you can buy now in terms of a mass produced guitar.

As for new bands shifting from one to the other, can't say I've seen it myself but I don't pay attention to much new music...
