changing pre amp valves

how often do i need to change the valve on my Laney TF200? its got a ECC83 pre amp valve n im curious as to when (or if) its gonna need replacing.

Keep some extra new preamp tubes on hand and when you feel like maybe your amp needs a change, pop the new one in and see if you hear a diff. If you don't put the old one back in and save the new one until you need it. That's the best way: just use your ears. Lew

Lots of people replace perfectly good tubes on a regular basis for no good reason. Maybe I should keep my mouth shut, that's how I get expensive OS tubes on the cheap. :wink:
