if it made the recordings on some Hendrix albums.. I'd say it was worth having... its super self-indulgent and that 700,000 could go towards feeding the poor but chances are the buyer has millions anyway...

If I wonthe lottery tomorrow, I'd bid on the guitar and pick it up in person!

Believe me, there are crazy collectors out there that will actually pay that much for this guitar. Mostly wealthy Japanese collectors. I'm surprised that this guitar is not a part of Paul Allen's Hendrix collection. The famous ''White Stratocaster'' was bought by Sotheby Auction House in 1990 from Jimi's Drummer Mitch Mitchell for $ 338,580. The following year, it was sold to Paul Allen for an undisclosed amount and is now at the EMP Museum in Seattle.
