Check out this RATM clip and tell me that marshall has no freaking tone!!!

Re: Check out this RATM clip and tell me that marshall has no freaking tone!!!

What a terrible singer, he totally stinks, other than that, there's nothing impressive in the music either.

Notice the huge differenece in Morello's tone versus other live or album tones?

Take a look at the cab. He's got a Marshall cab instead of the Peavey Cab loaded with Blue Voodoo's. This tone is much more crunchy than his normal tone.

I love this video, I have it downloaded.

The bass tone is kinda neat ;)

But the guitar? Nah.

I tried, but a few seconds of the Zach rap is all I can take. I liked him in Inside Out when he yelled his head off tho.

the tone isnt that great in my opinion but then again i was trying to ignore the verses sung like the start of "Prince of Belair"

I can see how some would say he's "innovative"...cool tricks...

Just not my thing....I couldnt even watch the whole thing with Carrottop "singing"....raps bad enough as it is AFAIC, without some dude trying to emulate that crappy DJ scratch stuff on a guitar

When he actually did play the guitar, and not the switch, his tone was decent...big Marshall crunch.

Didn't get through the whole video, I can respect the dudes imagination and for the most part the band's message. But I cannot listen to any rage for more then maybe 5 minutes, I get irritated and angry.

I find rage one of the most impressive bands out there, the sound is so different and original, there's so many guys widdeling out a solo, but there's no-one who sounds like rage at all.

Guitar tone was alright in that, but i was really digging that bass tone.

Man, that band ruled. I think they made a genuine difference too. The amount of wor they did for thier causes was mighty impressive. Its very sad they have split up, no one else seems to have managed to take their place as big 'protest' band. No one else has had Wall Street closd in the middle of the afternoon.

Re: Check out this RATM clip and tell me that marshall has no freaking tone!!!

btw i hope i didnt sound harsh in my previous post. RATM have been real hit or miss to me, i absolutely love some of their songs and absolutly hate some of their other songs .

Re: Check out this RATM clip and tell me that marshall has no freaking tone!!!

The video has been removed.... was the clip "Bullet in the head"? As far as I know that is the only live clip that had the guitar sounding decent...

Re: Check out this RATM clip and tell me that marshall has no freaking tone!!!

I would guess bulls on parade, from the comment on dj scratching.
And I believe they are getting back together again.
They're doing 4 concerts this year.:)

well everyone has their taste in music so i really cant tell you to like ratm...but imo rage was truly a REAL band...they had a message and passion...zachs rhymes were clever and truthful...and the band had a lot of groove...and as for tom...that dude is one of the most innovative players in history to me...shows you the amount of sounds you can pull off a piece of wood, magnets, strings and a couple of circuits...
