Amazing top eh?

Great guitar. Really really good workmanship. This is on par with the suhrs and andersons i have seen ( almost maybe).

Really balanced guitar. I havent plugged into it too much cause my hands are too **** tired from fixing it up. I bought it used from Germany and the guitar is 10 years old, but in great shape. but i had to sand the neck a bit and polish it and get all the grime off the frets. The person who had it obviously didnt play it at all and kept it in the case. Made the frets a bit green. Now after hours of TLC and tons of rubbing its like new. I am obsessive when it comes to tweaking my guitars.
I cant say yet though if it is better than my USACG alder red. that was a pretty amazing observation. It is more balanced though.
The only thing i dont like about the specific Axis is that it has a shim on the neck and is at a bit too much of an angle so it makes the guitar a bit more stiff than i would like and cuts a bit of the low end out.
Oh and by the way as far as my red alder USACG is concerned, i took the Poly off the fretboard and it sounds waaaaay better this way.

Re: Check out what i got yesterday. EBMM

Im a picky SOB and i busted some chops getting it but i got the **** thing!

Oh, i forgot i got it from Promuisictools in Germany. They are really really kind and great to do business with.

Looks great, man! Come back here and give some thoughts about it when you've plugged the guitar in for a longer time. :)

Re: Check out what i got yesterday. EBMM

EBMM is top notch stuff. Their neck carve is one of my all-time favorites. I'll likely own an Axis Super Sport or Rosewood at some point.

Glad to see our PM's paid off, and you got that one!

That's easily one of the best looking ones I've seen. If you take out the shim, will the Floyd sit too low for up-bends?

Re: Check out what i got yesterday. EBMM

it's about time you got one!

very nice top and color, good luck with it!!

What a great lookin' Axis, they're on my GAS list too, but cost quite a bit for me.
E: and awesome figure on the wood, love that quilt with the grains showing.

Re: Check out what i got yesterday. EBMM

Actually it isnt the one i showed you guys Jonesey. It is a similar one from Promusictools that i bought for more, but was in much better shape.

Weird thing is that it is heavier than i expected. Around 7.8 pounds. Maybe from sitting in the case too long it has more moisture???

Iron horse you can find one used from UK for much cheaper if you are patient.

Re: Check out what i got yesterday. EBMM

they go for around 600-650pounds. around 1000euros which is cheap for European prices

Re: Check out what i got yesterday. EBMM

Congrats. I love mine. You'll be suprised at the different tones you can pull off with that simple 2 hum, 1 togggle, 1 volume setup

Re: Check out what i got yesterday. EBMM

Oh man, glad you finally got it, I remember how badly you wanted one but about 2500 euros from the guitar store was a bit too much.

Great to see you have it and ain't it a looker ;)

Play in good health man!

Re: Check out what i got yesterday. EBMM

2600! LOL!

Yeah that is a tad bit too much! Got this one for much much less!

makes you wonder what they are gonna do with that one in the store??

thanks!

Re: Check out what i got yesterday. EBMM

Bah, probably the same 15-year-old-sh!t that has a 3-piece-suit yuppie father who would buy his precious kid a 4000 euros Gibson SG will buy this one as well...

As long as there are people that confuse price with quality things like that will always have a place in the (wrong) market...

(P.S. not saying the EBMM Axis isn't a quality product, in fact it probably has 10 times the quality your typical Gibson has.
Just that those kind of guys wouldn't know quality even if it hit them in the head and would only appreciate it by monetary value alone...)
