Chrome Cover on Custom Custom?

Just bought a Custom Custom off Ebay, the ad said "Chrome Cover", I thought the guy meant nickel cover, but when it turned up it really is chrome.

This page only lists gold and nickel as cover options:

But I was just wondering, is it/was it possible to buy CC with chrome cover, whether this was added later or by Duncan?

I had some vague idea that Duncan didn't do chrome for a particular reason, but I don't trust my memory, and a quick search didn't turn anything up.

It doesn't really matter either way. The cover fits the pole pieces well, and for where I intended to use it, chrome is probably better visually.

dont know if duncan does chrome or not but im sure there are aftermarket companys that make them

I've had OEM Duncans, probably from someone like Hamer, with chrome covers.

Interesting. It's going into a Hamer, so it'll match the chrome neck pickup.
