Classic 30 Head

Re: Classic 30 Head

i only own the combo myself but i like the idea of the head version... the amp guts are more free of vibrations... plus the larger cab would help open the low end on these amps.

the one thing i don't like too much about my C30 combo is the Reverb is way too sensitive... on 2 it is already too loud! I wonder if the head version has reverb or a different style of reverb

Re: Classic 30 Head

Thanks WhoFan....especially for the comment about the reverb.

Anybody else?

I did a search in this forum and came up with virtually nil.

Thanks

Dave

Re: Classic 30 Head

I Love my combo. The only problem I have with it, is that it can get a little to harsh sometimes and lacks a bit of bass, gonna try a mod to fix the harshness though. I personally love the reverb, I run it at 5 for a lot of my bands originals. Also once your running it over 80% of its max volume it does change a fair bit, another annoying occurrence. For the price though, I can defiantly live with all those problems, the tone is great for me.

Re: Classic 30 Head

i love my c30 once i get the volume up... it does change around 4 on the volume knob.... for sure...

but for most of the time i use the C30 as my clean amp that i use OD/DIST pedals with.... I do also use the OD Channel a fair bit, sounds great with my stock MIM Tele!

Re: Classic 30 Head

Oh I forgot to mention the cleans with decent single coils is one of the nicest cleans I've ever heard.

Re: Classic 30 Head

I've got a 15 year old C50 head. It's basically the same amp with a bigger transformer. I love it. That external cab does help bring out the bass. The reverb is great, I dog the cleans, but I've got a BF Fender I like better for cleans.

All in all, I dig it.

i have the c50 head as well from the early 90's.... Very simular amp to my C30 combo but they do sound different...
