I'm getting the amp new for Christmas and since both are so close in price, this isn't a factor. I play blues/rock/funk. Some players tones I really like are SRV overdrive and clean in riviera paradise/Lenny, David Gilmour, Mark Knopfler, and Eric Clapton. I'll be running a Ts9, Cs-3, and maybe a 535q wah in front of it. I don't gig or have a band, but I hope to have this amp for a long time, so I might gig later on. So for the description that I listed (which sucks) which amp would you recomend? Price range should be below 500 US.

Edit: For the poll I also included an "Other" option. Please list the "other" amp you think fits my criteria/price range, and tell me why you think it is better than the two amps I listed.

my vote is for the classic 30 though.....amazing sound, i can get exactly the tones you discribed. it will also last a while for many reasons (durrability, etc). also, you can mod the piss out of it if you choose.

The Delta Blues and the Classic 30 are the same amp with the exception that the Delta Blues has Tremolo on it and the Classic 30 doesn't. Also, Peavey did have different speaker combinations for the Delta Blues, but they're basically the same amp. Out of the two choices you have listed above, I'd personally go with the Delta Blues 2x10. Although, if you have no use for Tremolo, go with the Classic 30. Either way, your getting pretty much the same amp.

I voted other in that you may want to spend a tad more and get a classic 50. The extra versatility of having a "bright" channel/input is something I would want as the DB/C30 are a little "dark" sounding to me when the boost is engaged.

That said, I think they sound fastastic as is, and I came REALLY close to buying the DB. It is a great amp. I just prefer a little more "bite" for leads.
