D-E: that ESP is a bit sparkly for me, but kidna cool.
Ez: i'm sure my painter can do the dweezil green however i don't know the paint code off hand.
davey: something missing?
LSP: thanks man!
Rocker: LOL...i actually ordered a duncan C5 last night that i may try in this and move the fred to another guitar so this will have 2 duncans in it....not sure yet though.
Zerb: thanks very much! i can pull off a pink guitar no problem...why...because i could care less if someone didn't like it
dangly: nope, no matching outfits lol.
tone?: mahogany with a maple neck is one of my favorite super strat setups since it adds a nice amount of low end tot he sound. as for your idea, i'd certainly go alder over basswood for what you want. basswood is ok i have one basswood guitar but i much rather use mahogany or alder for my personal taste. for the sound you want i think alder will work well for it. #248 is alder with a thin maple cap. i can't tell how thick the top is on it but it doesn't sound too different from regular alder with a maple neck.
pierre: thanks!! there are a few more to come so don't pick a favorite yet lol.
Gamera: thanks, i'm going to take some outside pics later if i get a chance which should show the color better.
Watkins: thanks!! the paint is house of kolor.
Travis: thank you!!
Jackson: i just love the sound look and feel of all maple necks so that's what i go with over and over again. no problems with ebony though, perhaps another clone will have an ebony board in the future...who knows.
Mr Wolf: thanks!
B Bent: thanks man, yeah it's not for everyone that's for sure but it's all good.
Mike: vaginitis...LOL...nah man, no fear of that, i got over the whole pink is for girls thing long ago...growing up as a little kid in the 80s i would make fun of all the guys that played pink guitars and said i would never do that. now here i am at nearly 25 with one wild pink guitar LOL. taste changes i guess lol.
wixedmords: i have a great feeling about this one, the neck feels great the body always sounded good (it was on another neck before) and the neck to body fit was perfect, real real tight which is a plus. i think once the fret work is done i'll have another great player on my hands.
Jeff: i think it may also. i'm building a Clone for another person that will be an oiled mahogany body all maple neck ardtail with the brobucker in it. i can't wait to try that when it's done! oh and i ordered a C5 i may try in here if it turns out i don't like the FRED. only time will tell once the fret work is done and i can dig in and spend some time playing it! oh and the tangerine clone has a tone zone in it and it's mahogany (1pc) with an all maple neck that is HUGE, real thick with an 1 3/4" nut too and that guitar sounds killer real big and fat yet never gets muddy even in drop d tuning.
