I took them off tonight to throw on some neon pink DR's (it's for my Halloween gig on Saturday) and they were horrendously grimy and filthy! I had no idea they were that bad until I saw the string beyond the saddle (still bright and shiny) and it was like night and day. Normally strings last me forever without cleaning and I just change them when they feel like they're going dead, but these lasted two gigs and four practices in the span of a few weeks. Definitely disappointing, since I was really impressed with them out of the package. Oh well, looks like it's back to Boomers or Dunlops for me!

I'll tell you right now that those neon DR's are only going to last two days until they are dead. You really should just change them to neons the day before or the day of the gig.

They feel dead already and it's been 20 minutes. I just didn't want them to still be stretching as of Saturday. I never change strings within 48hrs of a gig.

Yeah, I don't use coated strings. Nickel plated steel for me. I've been thinking of trying the Dunlop pure nickel. Dunlop's the best for most everything. If you can't find it with Dunlop, then look again, because you will.
