Coil splitting in covered pups

When you split a covered pup can you only use the coil that has the exposed pole pieces?
Also.. does anyone know if you can get the '59s covered AND with 4 wire config?

A: Depends which wire you make your ground wire. You can leave whichever coil "on" you like, but I'd go for the screws in a covered pickup. The Slugs hidden under the cover will sound a little muted if you choose them.

A: Yes. Either or both options are available for an upcharge.

I have a 59 covered with 4 wires. I think it cost me $10.

er.. well $10 more than standard. If the things only cost $10, i'd have ten or so of them now!
