Colossal Incantation

Yep, I am excited. I was looking around for parts. I have a fresh pickguard ready to use. For pots, I have a bunch of old beat-up ones. The only new fresh pot I have is a 250K. I am wondering if I should use it or get off my butt and hit the Mom & Pop to get a fresh 500K.

I bet you would want the higher value . . . with that much DCR I'd think you would probably want all the highs you can grab.

yeah, i think a 500k would be my choice. doesnt have to be new, measure your old pots and pick one thats 500k or a bit over

I really think a massive pu like that needs to live in a massice guitar, like, say an Iceman

I got a F-spaced so it is going in my black Strat. If I like it in there I am going to move the Black WInter that is in there into my Ibanez Roadster

It brought a massive smile to my face seeing the initials MJ on the custom shop box. I am heading out now to get the 500K pot.

I am working so I only got a chance to install it during lunch and play maybe 5 minutes. It is mid-forward at least with the amp settings I am using right now. Great sustain and has lots of chunk. Does it chug? Yes, it chugs. I need to spend more time with it but yes, I can work with what I am hearing so far, I am very pleased.

How's the heat on that one? Your description sounds like it might be a DiMarzio Super 3 killer, but just wondering...

It is hot AF. I need to play it through the Excelsior later tonight because that amp's preamp is very responsive to being pushed. I had to bring my amp's mids back a hair and knock up the bass a hair but it is pretty much plug and play. Never played a Super 3, but the freaking sustain on this pickup is amazing. Hit a chord go make a sandwich, and the guitar is still ringing crystal clear when you come back.

Brief hijack. How do you like the Babicz trem bridge?

Seeing I put the Colossal Incantation in my Strat, I didn't want the Black Winter to go to waste. I had a 498T in my Roadster II, which sounded great. But I figured I would give the BW a shot in that guitar. The touch and tone is fantastic. I also love the look. I will give it a run with the band tonight.
