Yesterday proved to be an interesting day to say the least. I was visiting my friend Cris Mirabella's guitar shop yesterday because I had planned on replacing a pickup in one of my Telecasters. When I got to the shop Cris was working on a very cool 1934 D'Angelico New Yorker. It was recently purchased by a collector and he was making some adjustments to it. Great guitar to say the least. So I cleared a spot on the work bench and started disassembling my guitar. A few minutes later he says "I have a surprise for you" and he hands me a bunch of old Frets. So I ask "What am I supposed to do with these?" And he says this guitar was previously owned by Eric Clapton and these are the original frets! Then he hands me the guitar and says play it and let me know what you think. Needless to say the guitar was amazing even though my hands were shaking a bit. So I get to play Erics 1934 New Yorker and I get to keep the original frets as well. After giving it some thought I have a friend that is a Jeweler and I am going to ask him to incorporate some of the Frets into a Bracelet, and maybe call it "Touched by God" haha....
